Center for International Doctorate Studies (CIDS)
The Center for International Doctorate Studies (CIDS) offers programmes in the
field of higher education for candidates who already have the university qualification
(M.A. or M.Sc.).
The main programmes are the Ph.D. and DBA Coaching Programmes. However, on request we also
offer Special Research + Publication Programmes which are not focused on the awarding
with a Ph.D. / DBA degree. In addition we offer seminars for members of the global research
+ business community.
Ph.D. / DBA Coaching Programmes
There is a growing number of university graduates in many countries who are searching opportunities to achieve a doctorate degree (Ph.D. or DBA) abroad.
In the Netherlands traditionally Ph.D. Programmes are based on at least 4-5 years of study. Mostly at least three years have to be spent in the Netherlands
and one in the own country to do the field research.
Opportunities for a DBA Programme are restricted to only a few institutes and are based on at least 3 years of study. Mostly two years have to be spend
in the Netherlands (coursework) and one in the own country to do the field research.
The long stay in the host country and the class group orientation make these opportunities unattractive for excellent university graduates who want to focus
directly on the preparation and execution of an individual doctorate research project.
This was an important motivation to found an institute which would provide more adequate opportunities
for doctorate studies.
The Center for International Doctorate Studies developed a unique Ph.D. Coaching Programme and a unique DBA Coaching Programme.
Both programmes are fully individualized (personal coaching, tutorial teaching and research supervision). Coursework is not required
and the time to spend in the Netherlands can be minimized.

Special Research + Publication Programmes
CIDS offers also programmes which are not leading to a Ph.D. degree. These
programmes are also fully individualized and focusing on the planning, implementation
and reporting of academic research. It offers excellent opportunities to do
field research in the own country, but also comparative research in own country
and the Netherlands. Support is offered to write one or more articles to be
published in distinctive academic and/or business field oriented journals/books.
Seminars
Using our network relations we are planning to organize in the future seminars
for experts in the field of theory and/or business practice. We will offer a
new input but want to create also an opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills
with colleagues from other countries. Various problems and challenges in the
business field are shared and analyzed: this makes a global approach in a specialized
seminar valuable.
